All that aside though, this is also either currently or will soon be a moot point for most. VZW has already promised to unlock the GPS in the first half of 2009 (we'll see, should be soon if they do it), but even if they don't, there are ROM chefs out there that are already releasing fully operational GPS ROMs (like my Omnia running WM6.5 and has GPS working).

Good luck, and I would never discourage anyone from speaking out on what they think is right, but I really think it won't amount to much.

Burger King does advertise "flame broiled" burgers so you know they do not fry them. VZ advertised GPS included but was very vague on how the GPS only operates with their app. And yes technically, the phone had gps but with a reduction in functionality that they to not relay to the consumer upon purchasing the phone. Considering GPS services are 98% free, it is a given people will believe since the specs in the VZ store state internal GPS receiver that they can use it as any other normal gps. Trust me, they did not tell me you have to "pay to play" else I probably would've stayed with sprint and bought the Treo Pre.
