I have a VZW Diamond with stock rom ETC and got the GPS to work using the Diamond PRO fix. I also installed the HTC GPS tool. It takes a few mins at first, but it's worked successfully with google maps. Didn't do anything special. I also got the dumb looking purple theme off with the Diamond TF3D app.
