Interesting. I'm having the no sound issue and my battery life is very erratic, sometimes I can go 3-4 days w/o a charge and sometimes I barely make it through a whole day w/ the same usage pattern. I charged my battery all night last night and its down to ~40% after all day and only making a few calls/texts - no wifi/EVDO usage - and I just had to soft reset to get back sounds.
Maybe this buzz is what's happening to mine as well, I'll try to pay attention and check it the next time the sound disapears.
As far as software goes, I'm running stock. No 3rd party applications are intstalled. The only thing I have done after I hard reset the device is sync to get back my contact list.
