Re: Homemade Car Dock MOD *with pictures*

Congrats on your effort to make it "Burger King" approved ,not a bad first try at all JB weld is great. Automotive body filler is great ,easy to sand and engineered to be painted over. Make a nice cardboard form around your dock in the shape you want (cover inside with foil/plastic wrap) tape it up to your stand & pack the filler into your form and let it dry. Remove your form and sand with 320 and then 800 grit sand paper. When you approve of the smoothness wipe it down with alcohol swab and let dry before painting.Wal-Mart has some really nice House of color paint in the motorcycle helmet section. Just remember time spent on waiting for light coats of paint to dry is better than runs like an ice cream cone, so dont try to acheive total color on first spray ,it might take 2 or three passes .Same process with the clearcoat light and even.
