Sure, I have done this on regular Verizon phones with no problem and no CS intervention, yet this is no ordinary case!
I'm going to try the Option 3 again tomorrow, let myself get transferred to CS, and see if it's not something I can talk them into doing. I've heard of people saying they have a Treo 700w/wx, etc, from another network. Perhaps I can convince them to go through with it.
