Tep

If the mic and the speaker stopped working, which is a hardware problem, more than likely they can't fix it at a store. This is also a known issue with UTStarcom. It happened to me also, I was using a different pair of headphones that didn't come with the 6700, with an adapter, and the device started thinking that the headphones were always plugged in when they were not. As far as replacing the device, with TEP, you don't have to bring it in to a tech to look at it, you call Asurion (the insurance company for Sprint) pay the deductable, get a new device. TEP covers lost, stolen, the dog ate it, I was pushed in the pool and it was in my pocket, etc, etc. - If Asurion is out of the 6700's, which hopefully should be soon, if not now, then you get a 6800. You just need to find someone who has had there's replaced with a 6800 to know for sure.
