Ok- to clear up a few questions I see people asking here:
1) Full finger/kinetic scrolling (ala iPhone) is NOT native to the Windows Mobile OS in versions earlier than 6.5. The stock roms from HTC for the Touch, Diamond and Tpro use their own finger scrolling system, called TouchFlo (This dates back to the original Touch/Vogue, not to be confused with Manilla, aka TF3D). Without TouchFlo, the only way to get finger scrolling was to install a similar app like FtouchFlo/FtouchSL, which runs as a layer over the OS and works more or less the same way as HTC's. Personally, I found FtouchFlo to be more powerful and configurable than HTC's TouchFlo (you can set programs to ignore it if they have scrolling of their own, ie many mapping apps).
That's not to say that all 6.1 versions are devoid of native scrolling- Microsoft apparently started trying it out around build 20931 and onward. Their native scrolling only worked in certain specific situations, such as start menu programs and lists (contacts, file explorer, etc) However, the native scrolling did NOT work in pIE or messaging (IE6 and IE8 have their own built-in scrolling mechanism instead). In order to have system wide scrolling, you either need to have HTC's TouchFlo (or one of the Ftouch variants) installed, or move to the more robust 6.5 native scrolling.
I think what many of you are seeing here is a very clean 6.1 rom devoid of add-ons such as TouchFlo, so that you may add one of your choosing. Since it is a late 6.1 base, it has some scrolling, but specifically scrolling within application windows (messaging view) will not work unless it has its own scrolling engine.
2) Album view relies on another HTC app called Full Screen Player (writing this from memory, I believe that's the app name. If not, something generic to that effect) to play mp4 with hardware acceleration. In fact, Full Screen Player and WMP are the only 2 known applications at the moment to play H.264 video (normally a very CPU-intensive decoding process) with full quality on the Touch Pro because of proprietary Qtv driver hardware acceleration. (more on that
here) If you're using Album, the videos may thumbnail fine, but just be a black screen without this other app.
I hope this clears up some of the confusion- let me say, as someone who was there rooting DCD on with his first titan roms, I'm really happy to see him taking a stab at the TP. DCD man, we should talk. Hit me on the chats one of these days. I know you read this from time to time!
