I would not recommend using a dumb phone for your idea....
I have a friend who is using a verizonized sprint touch pro, but it isn't in the DMD database. He is getting away without a dataplan right now because verizon doesn't know what kind of phone it is.... (He used the old activation loophole that no longer works)
