When I attach the headphones that came with the phone, then play a song, and press the power button to turn the screen off. The hardware keys stop responding.

Considering its common sense to turn off the screen after you select your music to save battery time. Does anyone else have this issue?
It's the setting for key lock. By default, it is setup so that all keys minus the power key is disable, including the keyboard. Go to Settings\System\Key Lock then choose something other than "Lock all buttons except Power button".
