To update what I found it seems if you (using the stylus) click left to middle of all those keys then it does as I said above. but if you press on the right side of the buttons then it works correctly. the symbols don't seem to be affected, and its only in XT9 mode and landscape that it messes up anything.

I think with the missing files I am working on the wrong thing. I believe it has to do with the 0C0C.xml file... specifically where it is setting the keys...
