If the files you are attempting to install are .exe files they must be installed from your PC via Activesysc. Once your phone is connected to your PC click on the .exe file and it should walk you through the steps.

If the files are .cab files, they need to be transferred to your phone and you can click on them on your phone and they will install. You can install them either to your device or your storage card. My rule of thumb is, if the app has any alarms or background operations, I install on the device. All others go on the card to preserve memory. In any case, I would suggest that you save .cab files onto your storage card so you will always have them in case you need to do a hard reset.
