To replace your favorites with opera, you'll need the Showaco Chrome Editor and Showaco Opera Favorites. With the chrome editor you can move around the titanium tabs, disable the IE favorites, and with the Opera favorites tab you can add opera on your front screen. I don't remember the links, but search for it in this thread. It's over at XDA and works fine.

That only makes it the default when clicking a link in email or whatever. I believe he's talking about replacing IE on the titanium front with opera. You'll have to do what i said above.
