update: well, seems that immediately after i posted this thread, i figured out that disabling the titanium interface will allow the game to run... weird that some roms i don't need to do that
i suppose if anyone has any ideas on how to avoid this, let me know
*EDIT* this only seems to work for monopoly... the others still give me the error
