Ok, this is not real solution for your problem, but maybe will work, because it is feature of Sportypal, sports workout tracking application, you can download it on
www.sportypal.com.
how it works about your problem, during the workout screen should be off because of saving the bateries, and application doing it automaticly, so you can start application put it behind and it will take care od your screen, when ring come it will ringing and start screen, when you finished application will take care to close the screen.....in mean time you can use it for improuvment you fit.
