I had this same problem and remedied it today. I loaded NFSFan's new rom from xda but this was a recurring problem for me with all the Mighty roms. I never tried anything else. I always had to go into my connections and under usb to pc i had to uncheck enable faster data synchronization and it would link up then. Today, that wouldn't work at all. I always got the "connection not valid" error. I tried a few different things including uninstalling the touch pro under device manager. I also enabled internet sharing with the cable plugged in and windows installed some new drivers. Ultimately, I uninstalled windows mobile device center and redownloaded it from microsoft. Once i reinstalled it, it started working again. Hope this helps!
