Well I took my Apache with a non-functional touchscreen to the same Sprint store as the OP, and I must say I was extremely surprised by the outcome.
I figured, best case they give me a new-in-box Mogul. Worst case they give me a refurb Apache. But I didn't get either.
They gave me MY OWN APACHE back to me! Apparently they were able to replace the screen, even though I could have
sworn that I read on another thread that the store techs aren't even allowed to do repairs on Apaches.
Oh well, next time I have an issue, I'll take it to the same store and hope for the best.
PS I wonder if they kept deanerh's Apache around for parts and gave me his old screen
