No I didnt remove the files from the windows directory, I just copied those to IS then made changes and cut them from the IS and moved them so I know I had all of the ringtones and alerts in the My Ringtones folder, because not all of the ones in \windows were in windows\rings. I also noticed that some of the ones in windows had hidden checked, while others did not.

as for the whole deleting of all sound files from the windows dir and the windows ringtone dir, what is the best locating that you guys have found for relocating you tone's?("\Aplication data\sounds\" , "\Internal Storage\My Documents\My Ringtones\" , or just "\Internal Storage\My Documents\"??
what location have you guys found to be the best location?
also this brings up this question, i have found that the only way (at least for me) for you to use custom tones for new sms's\new email's\and alarms and such, is to place the tone in the "\Windows\" dir?
is there another location that you can place custom tones, where they will show up in the "Sound and Notifications" when you go to change your sms's\new email's\and alarms, other than just the "\Windows\" dir?
thanks a lot guys!!!

I've found that if you move your ringtones into a different folder in the root directory instead of inside the Windows folder, any folder will work. Not in Internal Storage though, just in \My Documents\My Ringtones (about three folders above Windows if using TC)
Custom tones, I put them into the root of Internal Storage, sounds strange but they work from there. Although you can put them in the ringtone folder further inside Internal Storage and they will work also. It saves a lot of room putting them on IS side. Stock tones though have to be on the Device side or it wont see them, I think...I havnt checked and dont remember.
