I'm using a case designed for an iPod that has a double-zip seal and a watertight feedthrough for the audio out line. Got one at Marshall's for about $3. No shock protection -- it's really just a heavy-duty ziplock-type bag -- but it would certainly protect against rain or spray on a boat, etc.
Don't know the vendor's name but it should be easy to find one online.
