Missed the pre-aku2.3 part; sorry, I'm a windows newbie and clearly not paying attention! 
I've got a sprint 830i, so it isn't pre-aku; I never saw how-to instructions before the 11-4 version, so I was just following the clues from the posts in this thread! So according to your current instructions, just install normally, don't go through the extra steps of copying to /windows?
