Hi guys,
You might want to have a look at the new and up and coming HP iPaq 210, it is very much the same as the Axim X51v but with actual support, If it comes out with the right specs, VGA, 128 MB RAM, 256 MB ROM, 624 MHz, BT 2.0, Wifi and a 4 inch screen it looks great have read
here.
I have used conversion devices starting with the HTC Harrier (PPC-6600) and the HTC Apache (PPC-6700) and was not happy with the pick up of the calls my wife would ring me I would answer the call in one ring but she actual heard 6, I was able to cut this back to 4-5 rings with a registry tweak. However was just not cutting it like a standard mobile which I have gone back to (Sanyo Ice - Black).
Now that I have a Dell Axim X51v I would not go back to a qVGA so would have to wait for a VGA device that is CDMA and is not so expensive the apache is $1199.00 NZD ($885.12 USD) or the Titan AKA Mogul / PPC-6800 which comes in at $1399.00 NZD ($1,033.77 USD) so not cheap wear as the HP iPaq 210 is supposed to be about $410.00 USD ($554.99 NZD) so I can live with a Pocket PC rather than a conversion here in New Zealand.
It also seems that companies are really wanting to look at VGA again hope more device come out with more for example here is two picks one from my old Apache (sold it) #2 - and my current Axim #1 - with Wisbar Advance Liquid Watsta (by Bob_55 SBSH forum), which one would you have... yeah VGA all the way...
So with Dell going away from the Axim brand and the Loox going the way of the DoDo then HP has decided to fill the gap, and most likely my money once the Ax has gone the distance.
Cheers
