Slide to answer prevents you from accidentally answering the phone.
You said you wanted to protect your keys? Just get 25 cents worth of cheap vinyl in Walmart (Fabric department) and apply it to the keys with a couple drops of soapy water. It works great and you get to mod your phone some more
