I've found the whole BT ActiveSync/WMDC thing to be a bit flaky. The first thing that I had to learn is that it will NOT sync via BT until you sync via USB once. After that, setup is dependent on your BT stack, but I haven't found one yet that simply won't work. One key is that you must see and check the "ActiveSync" service from your TP when you set up the BT connection (meaning, on the TP, after you pair the device to your computer, you get a list of services available from your computer. If one isn't ActiveSync, you're doing something wrong).

What I've found works for most BT stacks is to set up a BT COM port and then tell ActiveSync/WMDC to use that port to sync. Then you'll see the ActiveSync service on your TP and you should be good to go.
