I'm having terrible trouble with what I think is an unreported texting problem. It was
addressed by Psyki in the first thread and even when I applied the CDMA Fix 2 and soft-reset, the problem still occurred.
This problem still occurs even after using the earlier fix (albeit for a different problem) found here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...&postcount=194
Apparently it's carried over into PsykiROM 2. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Here's what happens.
1. I start a new text message and start to type in the recipient's name (either with FingerKeyboard or with the hardware keyboard). As I start typing, my contact's information comes up in two places. The drop-down menu in the TO box and in the middle of the screen where T9 suggestions would come up.
If I select the name (using my stylus, the UP/DOWN arrows control the T9 list), everything is peachy.
If I just hit Enter, the text message will inevitably fail.
2. I've pressed enter and you can now see that while my contact's information has been filled in the To field, that drop-down box is blocking most of the number and the blinking cursor is located behind this box. At this point, it is
IMPOSSIBLE to change anything in the To box. Typing doesn't bring up anything, I can't delete the current entry, it's broken.
3. As you can see, this text message problem causes errors all over the phone. Now the text-message won't load and for some reason is now a hybrid of my Screen Capture and the text message screen. (Note how the blinking cursor is still in the same place)
4. At point 3, the message is unusable. You can not edit the recipient's and you can not enter a message. You have to hit "OK" in the upper right hand corner and start again. (This only happens if you load something while writing the text message, e.g. if a phone call comes in)
I've completely restarted the text-message process again. In this screen you can see how even though I'm writing a message, there's still a blinking cursor in the To box.
5. If I hit send, it appears the text message has been sent. Nope
When you go into "All Messages," it now tells you that "Your text message cannot be sent" because apparently it tried to send it to the phone number
2.
The phone number is always 2, no matter who I write a message to. Even to people who do not have the number 2 at all in their phone number.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. This has only happens to me on PsykiROM, so I don't know what's going on. This
is not an intermittent problem, it happens every time I repeat the process above (which is unfortunately my main method of constructing text messages).
I'm running PsykiROM 2 stock (except I changed some of the colors using the themes provided by Psyki), so no additional programs/tweaks have been added (excluding the screen capture program which was added after experiencing the problem multiple times).
