i totally agree....3G is just a buzzword now cause the US gsm carriers are just now rolling out their weak-@ss 3G now and market "3G iPhone" or whatever....EvD0, on the other hand, has been with us for a long time now and gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling inside...
ever since that damn iPhone 3G came out everybody in my office that has one feels the need to show me theirs like they're trying to convert me. this has been non stop for about a year now since the f-in thing came out....
for the people i like that do it, i shrug and show zero interest. for the people i find annoying, i laugh in their face and tell them i've been rocking "3G" for ~5 years now. which, of course, since they just learned that there was such a thing as 3G, they usually laugh back and say "sure...", "yea right", etc.
out of the 6 other cubicles i share a room with on my office, 3 of them have iPhones....a few months ago they were circle-jerking each other and pinching each others screens and whatnot....i made a comment about my 5 year 4 year old flip phone having faster internet and they all flipped out.....so i bet them 1 week of lunch each....that night i activated my trusty back-up, the Sanyo-M1, loaded with Opera Mini and the streaming media player...needless to say, i got free lunch for a month...and, the look on their faces when i destroyed them in browsing speed was
priceless....and then i rubbed it in by letting them in on the fact that my monthly bill is a third of theirs...
