I recently lost my HTC 6800 that had Alltel service - I made the insurance claim and got a new Touch Pro (great phone BTW). Well, turns out I had left it between some sofa cushions at a friends house and he found it about a month later - now I'm wondering if I can sell it for anything? I assume Alltel enteret "lost/stolen" under the ESN, so not sure if it can be reactivated - I'd hate to sell it on Ebay or wherever, and then get a negative feedback when it can't be activated. Should I just sell it for parts, or see if Alltel will pay me anything for it? I don't want them to try and get me to give back the Touch Pro - what should I do? Thanks for any advice!
When you did the ESN swap, if you told them something like "I'm trying to activate the 'replacement' phone" or if you initially called in and said "I lost my 6800" then it may have a bad ESN (i suggest calling and asking to verify if its bad or not) they wont charge you for it just dont say that you FOUND it again.

If you called and said only that you want to do a swap to a new phone then more than likely it is still valid.

If you dont mind and would like to, post the ESN # here and I or someone else will do a check on it for you.
However, in any case that you want to sell right away then list it on eBay stating that you don't know the condition of the ESN and for the bidder to take the initiative to check for themselves before buying.

FYI- I've reported a lost/stolen 6800 and found the ESN clean when I checked (Sprint/Nextel)

GOOD LUCK
