Re: [April 21st, 2009] (((((MightyROM5))))) Windows Phone® 21501 Build 21501

Ok folks. Several people have tested it. I've NOT had a single issue since doing this.

Follow the steps closely.

----------
Step 1.
----------
Copy all the .wma files to your phone to your computer. Check in the windows\rings directory on the phone...

Go here, get the free converter software. http://www.eusing.com/free_wma_conve..._converter.htm

Convert all the .wma files to .wav

Rename the ones you converted (wave ones) or just the ones you use to have something like a 1 as the first character so you know which are the .wav ones.

Copy these back to your phone in the \My Documents\My Ringtones folder

Next. Go into windows sounds and notifications and UNSELECT everything else, but set your phone ringer to one of your new converted WAV files. I mean EVERYTHING else. Go thru EACH of the options and deselect all types of notifications for now.

======
Step 2.
======
Go here:
http://www.pocketmax.net/alarmPal.html

Download and install AlarmPal to main memory of your phone.

Then go to alarmpal, and set the sounds for all the others there.
Configure if you want repeating notifications, etc. (I run in hidden mode)

If you go back to settings sounds/notifications, you'll notice for txt, etc, it'll forward the event to alarmpal bypassing 6.5's system.

For the ones that are forwarded to AlarmPal, you can add things like message on screen, flash, vibrate, etc.

--------------------------------
DO NOT add any sounds to any other event that isn't controlled by alarmpal or it may NOT work or try to revert everything back to 6.5's system.

Phonealarm and phonealarm Lite (from the same company) might also work, but alarmpal is a very, very lightweight program and is tested in this case. Esp for the light memory Verizon folks.
