Thanks for the suggestions, soft reset numerous times, hard resetting does nothing either.
I even went as far as to copy a bunch of registry settings from HKLM\Comm and a bunch of other keys from my touch pro to see if i could fix the problem to no avail.
It's okay though, i'm currently cooking a rom with Calkulin's kitchen and so far everything works fine
