Don't know if there is a fix posted about the corrupt ringtones issue or ringtones reverting back to regular WinMo sounds and those being the only ones to choos from.
But I found that when you go into Sounds & setting, the long (Start Menu/Settings/Sounds & Notifications/(Notifications Tab) then click on dropdown box.), and choose your ringtone then, it fixed it for me. No reset was needed.
