Re: Spinning Beach Ball every 10-Minutes

Well looks like the true culprit isn't ActiveSync but GoogleMaps.exe is kicking on and sucking all kinds of CPU 40%!!! when it runs!

Leave it to Google to not just want my search and mail traffic, but now all my CPU time!

It never did it before, I wonder if they have released an update in the last few weeks that I grabbed

To fix my problem I opened Google Apps, and selected Maps, then went into the menu on the lower right, unchecked Use GPS and then Exit, when it ask if I wanted to Continue to Share your location with Latitude? I said No!

(I like using GoogleMaps at times and thing the Big Bother App Latitude is very cool in a sort of CIA/Spy way

I monitored with Task Manager and it hasn't appeared again.

So sorry ActiveSync my deepest apologies, though still it kicks on and I am going to stop it.

I found this at XDA for the ActiveSync issue and thanks to those guys for a relatively painless fix:

Thanks gadjet for the tutorial and kbywg for the lead!
