Well to help u out a lil with a few of your questions, ill try and give u an idea as to what we are doing, (well i mean what the DEV's are doing)
First u HAVE to Acknowledge that WM 6.5 is a leaked BETA rom release ( It was made for the new phones that are coming out and I doubt that Sprint , Verizon and any other carrier for that matter, will come out with a wm6.5 update rom for our phones)
And that being said, EVERYTHING the Dev's do, is on a Trial and error basis when it comes to beta roms, i mean heck we arent even supposed to have the WM 6.5 release yet.
I think the reason the WM6.5 is causing a headache for us is because they didnt have our phones in mind when working on the YET to be released wm6.5 (a official release that is)
WM6.5 probably has new drivers and files that are specific to the phone they plan to release it with, and so basically we have to mix and match from 1 sys to another and address each issue that may arise until the bugs are worked out/
When a ROM is in a BETA stage its just THAT, BETA. And U should know that BETA means its not the final product, its a work in progress. U CAN NOT EXPECT TO HAVE A PERFECT WORKING BETA COPY OF ANYTHING!! Otherwise it wouldnt be called BETA/
As far as flashing a stock rom prior to flashing a custom rom to get some of the issues fixed with the custom rom, its a little mystery right now, but it seems to be a neccessary evil
/ i like working with custom beta rom releases because its a challenge to fix what ever is might arise/ And u will learn ALOT about your phone which is half the fun and fustration of flashing custom roms/
But be WARNED, u should stick with official rom releases or custom roms that are out there that are not BETA and have been proven to be stable and perform without issues/ If u are new to flashing roms and have not yet had the expierence in addressing issues that may arise or u need your phone for your business or someting and cant afford to have a glich or an issue which prevents u from using the phone the way u are accustom to using then maybe u should steer clear of the BETA roms until they have been perfected and deemed stable and reliable.
I guess i still get a little concerned when people come down on the DEV's for issues that arise from them flashing the beta custom roms, and thinking that the DEV has all the answers/
THERE IS NOT 1 CUSTOM ROM RELEASE WHICH doesnt have a WARNING STATING IN BOLD LETTERS
" FLASH AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!!" NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DAMAGE TO PHONE FROM FLASHING the custom rom"
the DEVs are great and will usually help anyone needing help, plus me u and everyone else are also willing to help and thats why PPCGEEKS is a kick *** forum and we should be proud to belong,
And there is nothing wrong with a shortbus =) lol
peace out!
