Well, unfortunately thats not the normal case scenario. If you call and ask a CSR for your MSL/unlock code, 99% of them will tell you they are not allowed to give out that info. Unless you call them and tell them you need to reprogram your phone - at which point you are forced to enter your MSL code to proceed - it can take way more hassle than its worth to deal with the carrier for it. The app I posted about above is a simple keygen program... you enter your ESN, it gives you your MSL. You can't get much easier than that really.
