Another option is to install PocketShield (awesome program). One of the PS options is to use the standard WinMo dialer to eliminate the ridiculous incoming ring lag from the bloated 10 meg HTC dialer.

If you pick that option, PS provides a really nice black skin to make the WinMo dialer look a lot better + the cab to fix the volume.
