If I put a WAV file in "My Document\My Ringers" and then try to select it, I don't see it listed.
I'm sure its something simple but without some initial guidance I'm not sure what to do, and the sonic screwdriver didn't help

Put any sound files that you want recognized as possible ringtones in your \Windows folder. If they don't get recognized immediately, you can try to tap/hold and select "use as ringtone" in the OEM File Explorer. [It might say something like "set as ringtone"-
you get the idea.]
