Smile Alltel will accept a different carrier's esn

I have been working on switching a Sprint TP with a bad esn to Alltel. The last problem that i got hung on was Alltel accepting the esn. I tried the alltel myaccount website to change my phone, but it gave me the error that the esn was on a different carrier. I then called tech support and asked them to add it to their database, and he told me that for a couple months now alltel will not accept any unregistered esn. So then I called back and asked to be transfered to a sales rep, and acted all dumb about the phone. I asked him if he could activate my phone for me cause I cant figgure out the website. He said sure, all I had to give him was the esn(in this case it was an meid) and in a few minutes, he had the phone activated. I hope this helps anyone trying to switch a phone to alltel.
