This question has been asked quite a bit (twice by myself), just look through some of the older posts.

Yes there are "clean" roms, JD, Silent, Joker all have them, but I've found them lacking the basic battery / scrolling / menu tweaks that really help make WM6 shine above the stock.

Sorry I dont have links for you, as this post is largely opinion and I'm currently at work and cant search for you, but give Silence Rom 9 a shot as after disabling TF3D it is very stripped down, yet has the basic tweaks I previously mentioned.

I've gone the 'clean rom' route and unfortunately been quite disappointed.
