You probably know what are the settings for standalone GPS no assistance at all?

sounds much like having a Garmin Nuvi GPS and the screen is broken so you want to attach a laser pointer to it to point at a map on your dashboard where you are

I always thought I needed data for the map apps, but I've toyed with the idea of upgrading from the 6900 thought it would be great to still have a spare gps unit (this thread just rekindled those thoughts)
As is right now I still enjoy great gps using Humpas telus settings
