I did a hard reset after flash too. Maybe I just need a less filled rom?

You need to change the pagepool of the ROM using the page pool changer in the ROM folder. Most verizon users report good luck with it either 9 or 12

Also, search the forums on disabling the HTC Dialer, verizon folks report that saves 10mb of RAM alone
