Looking at the http://www.sdcard.org/home web site, its seems that your hardware has to support SD2.0 standard, its a new standard since 2006 I think.
Now looking at the age of the XV6700, Id say it only supports the sd 1.0 standard.
So Id say no its not going to work esp the HC versions
Unless someelse can tell me/us how to update the standard in the XV, Id say dont waste your money buy another 2gb card.
I'm thinking the card you got is not SDHC card, it's non-SDHC 4 gig card, which do exist and have been circulating around now for some time. Some devices will accept and read this 4 gig device just fine. Others will not.

Also the issue being discussed here is not if the 6700 has native SDHC support. We all know it doesn't, it's if we can hack it to support the new standard. Also, like I said before the Universal phone which came out in late 2005 like ours, now has WM6 and support for SDHC. Some users confirmed this with the use of 8 gig SDHC cards. WM6 didn't automatically come with the necessary drivers, there are a couple of developers over at XDA which had to manually insert it. Just read the thread I linked below.

Found another useful link >> http://www.windowsfordevices.com/news/NS8391848434.html . This company bsquare, appears to have made a software stack for Windows Mobile devices to support cards up to 32 gb. I don't see any other information for it, however.
