If you want to back up the file first you can rename it (hold/press on the file name and an options box came up with 'rename' just add .bak to the end of the file name.

Yes you drop the file into your windows folder. Using TC you can use the copy/move command and then a window comes up and use 'tree' navigate to \windows, then choose copy or move .... I usually use copy so I have the file to reuse later.
