I uncheck the USB option in Windows Device Manager the psd tells us to uncheck in Active sync, run the flashing program, hit the appropriate choice and load the update file/image and then select the final button (detect), power down the Omnia (I am assuming pressing the top button), and plugging it into the laptop via USB, and then powering it back up..........then nothing!!!!

As I mentioned, I am trying to follow the instructions exactly, maybe I am missing something, maybe other Vista users did something different I can't pin down, but any info to help me out would be GREATLY appreciated!!!
I have been following the thread over in modaco, and i definitely remember something Vista users were doing different. Check it out. Something about un-checking some USB box or something, can't remember. I'll look and see if I can post a link...

Here is what I found there:

"Worked great for me...
Use the "unified image file box" to load the rom img

Also if you're using vista all you have to do is open Windows Mobile Device Center, select mobile device settings, then connection settings to disable the active sync"

Looks like you already did this though.......
