I did a lot of research a few months back on doing UC restores with ROM flashing it seemed rather tedious with lots of unique code/scripts to write. there were a few programs to automate this process but they were still in their infancy and still a bit of work.

What is the current state of UC automation? I'd love to upgrade my current flashed ROM to one of the ones with the new TF2 manilla but I really like the way everything is set now. I don't mind doing it once more but I'd love to get it automated so I can hop on/off ROMS until I find one I like.

Thanks
Have you tried Sashimi? Its one of my favorite apps for automatic UC, w/o the hassle of createin sdconfig texrt and all the other scripts and such... Im a lot like you in the fact that I dont want to have to deal with puttin all that code and stuff together... but Sashimi automates everything... Its a lil tricky to figure out at fiirst, but theres a walkthrough cab and youtube videos that show you how to set it up, from there it gets really easy... it can install all your preferrd cabs, xml info (like your email acount settings) registration info for thos cab you maay have that you have to reimput the regristration stuff, and even back up and restores your registry if you like doing a lot of registry tweak, but hate doing it all over again everythime u hard reset or flash... i love it, b/c theres always different roms i like to try but couldnt as I was to lazy... but now, w/ my sashimi setup, wheneverr I feel the itch to flash i do, until i find a rom the satisfies me, but i never have to worry about flash or hard reseting anymore...
