If you dont have a insurance and have this sorta problem, if you take it to sprint are you pretty much SOL? Have any of you had results getting a replacement from sprint without having insurance this far out of the return/exchange period? I heard at one point you could get insurance at ANY time. Is that true? Would you suggest doing so? Thanks.
All that is answered in this thread.

Basically, if you go to Sprint without insurance they'll want to charge a service fee, even if they do the warranty exchange with HTC for you. If you don't have insurance and send the device to HTC directly, it may take some weeks, but if they can verify the problem they'll give you a replacement or fix it. The HTC warranty is good for 1 year from the original date of purchase and hardware defects like a broken keyboard are covered. So long as you don't send them a device that has a custom ROM on it, of course.
