Re: Mobile Speed Test

Depends on many things: Your signal strength, your location, the testing server's location (New York for mobilespeedtest.com), how the towers are working where you are, the browser you use, and chance. You can have very different speeds at different times of the day. It's just how it works on EVDO.

Just did a test: dslreports: 854 kbps
My site (Mobilespeedtest.com): 1.82 mbps
speedtest.net: 1.77 mbps

The best thing to do is to run a few tests from different places and stick with the one that gives you the highest results. If you get results that are too slow from one site, then that site is not working well for you.

You won't get results higher than your actual speed (unless you're using a proxy).

In my case, results are more accurate from my site and speedtest.net than dslreports.

You should be fine with internet explorer and opera mobile (or tethered). Opera mini and skyfire won't work.
