If memory serves me correctly...

Hook up your phone via mass storage mode. Go into My COmputer (or Computer, if its Vista), locate the drive, which will be ID'ed as a removable disk most likely.

Right click it, choose properties, click the tools tab, and choose error checking.

I might not have all those right steps, but if it doesnt get you in the right direction, let me know.
