Maybe it's just the HTC Home plugin notification that's messed up??
I just sent myself a few SMS messages and soft reset a few times.
No issues and messages were still there after resets.
For the record, I stopped using the HTCHp and have replaced it w/phoneAlarm and a few other apps.
