OK I finally got the *228 number to call cricket instead of verizon.
Perhaps some other nobs can relate to this but my mistake was when I was trying to enter the PRL number. I grabbed a list of PRL from
http://corolada.com/prl/cricket/38140.prl they all worked here in Portland except 1030. Well I was trying to type in the number in my 6700. Very dumb. OK new people learn from my 4 hours of mistakes on this one and drag a PRL file on to your mobile device then when you enter ##775, put in your six "0's", find that PRL file behind the browse button. Accept the PRL file and boom you will get the phone to call someone other than the evil empire. However.... My phone says, "we are sorry we can't program your phone at this time."
So I'm missing one step somewhere. I'm thinking I may have messed something up when I hit ##778 and started changing numbers within the EPST.
I put my 10 digit phone number for the MSID,
my 10 digit phone number for the MDN,
7 digit phone number for the MIN1,
area code for the MIN2
10 digit number for MSID.
I followed a great set of instruction on the HF but I'm missing something.
I guess I'm like an eager student wanting the teacher to review my work.
I started Friday first making sure my new Ebay purchase xv6700 worked. So I spent about 2 hours getting the phone to pick up my in home wireless. VERY COOL by the way.
Then my real journey started after the kids went to bed Friday night. I got a good load for WM6.1 for Verizon just about 6 hours later that night. In the morning I switched the kitchen to Cricket. Only took 30 minutes so that was cool to see some progress. I then tried to flash the phone to cricket and here I am. I spent easily 7 hours on Sat trying to flash the darn thing and I think I missed one step.
The phone is awesome. WM6.1 works great for as far as I can tell. Thank you PPC kitchen studs.
My only two issues are the missing cricket step and ...
When I'm trying to load another program unrelated to the kitchen I get an error of " updater.exe. is not able to bla bla because system.data.sqlserverce v.3.0.36 is missing.
On this last issue I don't know yet if that was my bad kitchen or the programs bad program. I did select the ingredients from the kitchen that appeared to satisfy that need but it didn't work.
So thanks again to all. I can say that I'm pretty addicted to this site and it's kind of cool that you all helped a complete tard take a stock phone and within a day it gots some sweet upgrades.
Thanks
