Re: Custom Taskbar

Okay, for everyone that has been posting questions, while we are happy to help fix all of the issues, concerns, etc, I'd like to layout a couple of ground rules:
  1. Please don't keep posting the same question over and over again if you don't get a reply immediately. This kind of thing leads to Coz coming through with a meat cleaver to archieve and delete posts..
  2. Please be aware of the time zone factor. A lot of folks were wanting answers last night, but were asking at 3:30 in the morning Texas time, where both myself and Tsowen live. Your not likely to get an answer from us at that hour.
  3. Requests to change this or add that, or I don't like this, why did you change that are good as far as helping us refine what choices we make in the design process but there are 2 things to consider:
    • This takes time. We just got done with the task bar. Tsowen made the choices he wanted for each icon or series of icons. We just don't have the time in our lives to go in and make all of these individual changes for everyone that want's them on such a large project.
    • Scale: When you change out all the icons in the taskbar like this, there is not a batch process or a quick and easy way to do it. It's one at a time, in several separate dll files. For example, a battery swap involves changing 102 images in the dll, and that doesn't include making hte changes in the HTCLTB as well so they match.
    • Learning: We all learned to do this on our own, while we don't mind answering questions, (Not at all!!!) it would be far more productive if you want to change the battery or whatever, that you carefully read the first page, and the post over at XDA (first 5, I believe) and experiment on your own. You learn how to do something that is really neat and you can persoalize your phone the exact way you want it, not how me or Tsowen or Nellyo4 envision it. So to be blunt, don't be lazy and let us do all the work, jump in and try it yourself! It's not hard, just time consuming...
  4. Please understand that for next several days we are going to be focusing on trouble shooting. For me personally the HTCLTB is going to be a big issue, as well as the QVGA bugs. To help us out, so we can help you faster, please do the following:
    • State type of phone and screen resolution
    • If you are running a custom ROM and which one it is
    • State if you are running any other programs (like wktask or Quick Menu) that make changes to the taskbar
    • If possible a screenshot of the problem
I'm sorry to lay this on so heavy, but as we've stated time and again, we are doing this for fun and to pass these on to a community we enjoy being a part of, but we are not developers, we don't get paid for this and we do have other things going on in our lives that cut into our time here. So please be patient with us and we will help you out. Thanks!
