How is it faster? If pinned, which is easier now, it's as accessible as you want it to be. Otherwise the old Programs section was alphabetical as well, just with three to a row. But it scrolled much more slowly, which cancels out most, if not all, of that benefit. The new system seems like a definite improvement to me. I avoided the old Programs menu as much as I could.
