I think I need to exchange my TP...do you agree?

Hello-

Thanks for reading this, I need to get some input.

I got my TP in November, worked great, used eRice's kitchen until about a week ago. I was getting odd problems, Today items disappearing, etc. I went to delete a file in Total Commander and it suddenly started deleting...the root! So I was forced to install a new ROM.

I chose MightyROM, and it worked great for a few days, then one morning I woke up to half a PPC. 90% of all the files on the device were simply gone, ActiveSync settings were gone, S2U2 started but had no files, the same thing with a handful of programs I installed - Pocketwit, Facebook, etc. A hard reset would have left things clean, whereas I still had links in the programs menu and little remnants.

So I moved to Juicy's ROM and it worked fine for a few days. I checked my email, put it down, then remembered I wanted to check the weather, picked up the TP, and it was dead. I kept pressing the power button and suddenly it came back to life, completely hard reset, asking to do the screen alignment, etc. I let it boot up, and on the customization screen it went crazy - the progress bar was just cycling rapidly and only "........" was displayed in the text box under the bar. I tried hard resetting again, same thing. I took the battery out, and now it booted and successfully did the customizations.

This time I left it as pure stock, worked great for two days, and just now I went to check my email and the last screen displayed was still there - it was frozen. Oddly, pressing the End button made the typical noise, and pressing and holding even let me enable vibrate. But the screen was just frozen. I soft reset, and it never gets past the TP logo.

I hard reset again, it booted, but I give up. I'm going to flash back to stock and relock it.

Does this sound like hardware failure? It should be under warranty from Sprint still, right? Can I do that at a store?

Thanks!

-TM
