At the risk of ruffling feathers, I would suggest that the big difference between XDA and PPCGeeks is the "donate" button. On the one hand, I think it's perfectly reasonable to want compensation for some of the outstanding ROM's but on the other hand it contradicts the concept of open source.
A few of the most talented chefs here crossed an invisible line between asking for donations and commercial enterprise. They were banned or just left. So of course their is going to be a dearth of talent here. That's just unfortunate but I don't fault Geeks or the chefs. Although I find ROM cooking fascinating, I certainly am not going to invest the time you super-chefs do without reward. I've got a big fat mortgage and I don't expect a bail-out!
The other thing is that it seems like the vogue is yesterday's news. I was absent from ppcgeeks for a couple months and when I came back I see that the majority of posts are for the Touch Pro. Sucks for me because I have no intention of giving up my vogue until they add Wifi and a VGA screen to it! For my purposes it is nearly a perfect device.
Just my two cents. Please hold the flames!
